Convey Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
Convey is a public speaking practice app. The app helps you practise different speaking modes, analyze your speech, and track skill progression.
Information we process
- Account information: Your user identifier and email address may be processed through Supabase authentication.
- Speech recordings: Voice recordings are saved in the app's local storage so you can replay them.
- Audio for analysis: A temporary audio copy may be sent to the Convey backend and OpenAI for transcription and speech feedback. Convey removes the temporary analysis-storage copy after the analysis job finishes.
- Read-back practice audio: Current versions upload a completed read-back recording to the Convey backend and OpenAI for transcription, then delete the app's temporary recording after returning the match. Earlier released versions may stream guided-practice microphone audio to Microsoft Azure Speech for live transcription and pronunciation assessment; Convey does not store that streamed audio on its backend.
- Transcripts and progress data: Scores, transcripts, stats, skill levels, badges, and progress history may be stored with your account so the app can sync your history.
- Purchase data: Subscription status is processed through Apple and RevenueCat because an active Convey Pro subscription is required to access the app after onboarding.
- Product interaction data: Convey records app-session, onboarding-step, goal-selection, paywall, and purchase-flow events linked to your account so we can measure reliability and improve onboarding and subscription offers. These events do not include your recordings or transcript text.
- Advertising and attribution data: Convey may process device or app identifiers, advertising-consent status, app installs and launches, onboarding completion, paywall views, subscription lifecycle events, and limited SDK crash or performance diagnostics to measure advertising performance and keep the measurement integrations reliable. Convey does not send recordings, audio, transcripts, or coaching feedback to advertising providers.
- Apple authorization: If you use Sign in with Apple, Convey securely stores an encrypted Apple refresh token so it can revoke your authorization when you delete your account.
How we use information
- To provide speech transcription, scoring, feedback, and progress tracking.
- To keep your account, skill progression, subscription state, and history working across sessions.
- To support account deletion, purchase restoration, and customer support.
- To measure onboarding completion and subscription-offer performance, including experiments run through RevenueCat.
- To attribute app installs and subscription results to advertising campaigns, prevent duplicate conversion reporting, and improve campaign performance.
What we do not do
- We do not access your camera or score your appearance.
- We do not rank attractiveness.
- We do not sell personal recordings.
- Recordings are private by default.
Retention and deletion
You can delete individual recordings in the app. Signing out or deleting your account clears Convey recordings stored locally on that device. Account deletion revokes Convey's Sign in with Apple authorization and removes account-linked Convey data from the backend. Apple subscriptions must be cancelled from your Apple ID settings.
Advertising choices
The current iOS build uses aggregate advertising measurement and does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission. Convey does not provide the iOS advertising identifier, vendor identifier, account identifier, email address, or phone number for advertising measurement. Apple privacy-preserving attribution and aggregate reports from advertising providers are used to measure campaign conversions. In regions where separate consent is legally required, advertising measurement remains disabled until that consent is provided.
Third-party services
Convey uses service providers such as Supabase, OpenAI, Microsoft Azure Speech, RevenueCat, Apple, and Railway to operate authentication, analysis, live guided practice, purchases, and hosting. Convey also uses AppsFlyer, Meta, and TikTok for advertising attribution and campaign measurement. RevenueCat may send subscription lifecycle and revenue events to AppsFlyer using an install-scoped AppsFlyer identifier so conversions can be included in aggregate campaign reporting.
Deleting your Convey account removes account-linked data controlled by Convey, but it does not automatically erase records already retained by an advertising measurement provider. To request deletion or access relating to account-linked advertising measurement data, contact Convey using the address below. We will process the request and coordinate with the relevant provider where required.
